Who is doing the fiber work in Apex?

Apex’s high-speed-fiber page [1] names AT&T, Google and Spectrum as private providers upgrading equipment and running fiber. The town says it does not carry out that work and supplies provider construction contacts. A town project page does not accept your residential order.

GFiber’s NC directory [2] includes Apex, while Spectrum’s Apex internet page [3] requires an individual availability check. Use the completed home’s service address and unit, rather than assuming the builder’s lot number is the provider’s record.

What should you ask the builder before installation?

Identify any structured wiring panel, outlets and Ethernet runs, and find out who can grant the installer access. Ask the provider to approve the terminal or modem location and explain where the router will sit. Do not assume a wiring enclosure provides good whole-home Wi-Fi.

Kinetic’s installation guide [4] illustrates the distinction between an ONT and Wi-Fi gateway. Use that distinction to ask questions, while the selected provider supplies the installation specification. Permission to drill, route a drop or enter a shared space must be resolved for this property.

How should you choose around the move-in date?

Keep preferred timing separate from the accepted appointment. Ask what happens if outside work or an address correction delays installation. Compare the full quote using the 24-month cost worksheet, including any short-term overlap with the old service.

The fiber verification checklist is printable and keeps these unresolved items together. We have not inspected Apex new builds, verified an HOA conduit requirement or promised an installation timetable. Each provider confirms its final product, eligibility and order.

Moving into a rental or an unlisted new home?

Use the NC renter and HOA guide for bulk charges, covered-provider FCC rules, unit eligibility and property access. For a missing address, follow the new-home address checklist. Review an eligible offer with the Broadband Facts checker before deciding.

Questions before you order

Availability, prices and provider terms need confirmation. Here’s where to start.

Does Apex install my home fiber connection?

The town’s fiber guidance identifies private providers doing the work. Your chosen provider confirms residential eligibility and installation.

Can the builder’s lot number be used instead of the final address?

Ask the provider which service-address record is recognized. Keep the result unresolved until the actual home and unit are matched.
