What does Kinetic’s greater Concord update establish?
In its September 25, 2026 Concord update [2], Kinetic reports more than 7,800 added fiber locations over the preceding year and more than 38,000 homes passed around greater Concord. These are provider-reported network milestones for the broader area, not independently audited counts or orders at every home.
The Kinetic Concord page [1] remains an address-qualified retail starting point. Spectrum’s North Carolina directory [3] lists Concord. A construction milestone or city listing should lead to the next check, not replace it.
What should the two quotes establish?
| Check | Kinetic Fiber | Spectrum |
|---|---|---|
| Last-mile connection | Confirm fiber reaches this property. | Ask which connection reaches the premises. |
| Upload | Read the eligible plan’s typical performance. | Use the actual label, including any upgraded capability. |
| Equipment | Confirm the gateway and optional Wi-Fi services. | Separate compatible modem and Wi-Fi equipment costs. |
| Installation | Clarify remaining drop work and an accepted appointment. | Clarify self-install or technician work and the confirmed date. |
What should a home near a new build ask next?
Ask whether the home has a recognized service-address record, whether a drop still needs to be run and whether the provider can accept an installable order now. Retain the response and date. A neighbor’s appointment and a network passing the street do not answer those questions for your parcel.
Spectrum’s network description [4] covers both fiber-to-the-home and hybrid fiber/coax. Ask for the exact connection rather than importing another market’s technology or assuming one upload number for all Spectrum plans.
How should you compare a promotional quote?
Use the 24-month cost worksheet with the actual promotion length. Record payment-method and bundle conditions, later rates, equipment, setup and credits. Include switching costs only when they apply to your existing agreement.
This guide does not verify a Concord neighborhood, rank measured reliability or promise lower latency. Tarheel Connect supplies independent retailer assistance; the network provider confirms eligibility, installation and final service terms.
Moving into a rental or an unlisted new home?
Use the NC renter and HOA guide for bulk charges, covered-provider FCC rules, unit eligibility and property access. For a missing address, follow the new-home address checklist. Review an eligible offer with the Broadband Facts checker before deciding.
Questions before you order
Availability, prices and provider terms need confirmation. Here’s where to start.
Contact usWhat does “homes passed” mean for my Concord order?
It is a network expansion milestone. Confirm separately that your exact home is recognized, eligible and ready for an accepted installation order.
Are Kinetic’s greater Concord counts independently measured here?
No. They are attributed to Kinetic’s September 25, 2026 update and are not a Tarheel Connect field survey.
